Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143)

With this visa, you can

• Stay in Australia indefinitely
• Work and study in the country
• Enroll in the health care scheme, Medicare
• Sponsor your family members to come to the country
• Travel to and enter Australia for 5 years
• Apply for citizenship, if eligible

You can travel to and from Australia as many times as you want for 5 years from the date you are granted this visa.

This is a permanent visa. It lets you stay in Australia indefinitely.

For citizenship purposes, your permanent residency starts on the day:

• You are granted the visa if you are in Australia
• You enter Australia on this visa if you are outside Australia
